3 Stage Filtration System

3 Stage Filtration System

A whole house 3 stage water filtration system typically consists of three stages of filtration designed to remove different types of contaminants from the water.

The first stage usually consists of a sediment filter, which is designed to remove larger particles such as sand, dirt, and rust.

The second stage typically includes a carbon filter, Zeolites or other type of media which is designed to remove chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other chemicals that can affect the taste and odor of the water.

The third stage often includes a specialized filter, such as a reverse osmosis membrane or a specialized activated carbon filter, which can remove additional contaminants such as lead, arsenic, fluoride, and other chemicals.
